As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the VSON Research and Education Foundation relies solely on external financial support to fund all Foundation efforts. Contributions are tax-deductible and directly support efforts to improve treatment outcomes and provide the best orthopaedic care possible for our mountain community-based patients through investigation, innovation, education, and collaboration.
Support Your Community
Athletic Team/Event Sponsorship/Support
Our trained and experienced clinical staff are invaluable assets to our active communities. We strive to provide financial and medical support to local teams, sporting events, and competitions so that expert orthopaedic and sports medicine knowledge, care, and coverage is available on-site should injuries occur.
Support Students
ATC Residency
In collaboration with the physicians at VSON, VSON Research and Education Foundation offers an athletic-training residency program to three ATs-in-training each year.
This program is designed to give AT residents hands-on experience as they move through clinical rotations with all of our orthopaedic specialists. Residents also have the opportunity to work with our Foundation research team to gain experience conducting clinical research studies in orthopaedics.
Each $100K contribution to this program will allow one student to participate in the ATC residency.
Support Research
Research Team
The VSON Research and Education Foundation employs a dedicated team of research personnel to carry out and publish cutting-edge clinical trials in collaboration with VSON physicians.
Contributions to the Research Team help us conduct larger and more robust studies. The results of such studies can directly impact the care provided to our local community, informing orthopaedic care delivery and the continuous improvement of patient outcomes.
Support Laboratory Facilities
Educational Anatomy Laboratory
A long-standing goal, VSON Research & Education Foundation intends to join the ranks of leading medical research organizations by building our own state-of-the-art anatomy laboratory, in which to offer surgeons and students training and education in anatomy and pathology and facilitate the development of new surgical techniques. Only through handson experience can knowledge be deepened, skills be practiced, and innovative techniques be discovered.
Orthopaedics Laboratory
More research is needed to bring about continued improvements in diagnosing diseases and disorders of the musculoskeletal system, orthopaedic care, and patient outcomes. The Orthopaedics laboratory is the backbone of VSON Research and Education Foundation’s research program, helping our team improve understanding of the biological mechanisms underlying disease and disorders of the musculoskeletal system and find innovative methodologies to prevent and care for them.
